He knew Luhan wouldn’t accept his confession. He had seen the change progressing for a while now, watched distress and confusion take the place of unadulterated trust and the most beautiful friendship Sehun had ever known: whispers passing between Luhan and the other members, late at night when Sehun wasn’t supposed to be listening, subtle shifts in seating that favored Minseok over the maknae. Sehun knew, but he pushed him anyway, just a bit more each time, convinced Luhan would finally cave and give him what he wanted. But that December, he pushed too far.
The worst part was, Sehun had no one upon whom he could shift the blame. It was he, and he alone, who pained Luhan so; it was his fault that December’s snowflakes frosted confused tears in Luhan’s eyes, snowflakes that should have dissolved on joyful tongues and floated away on the exhalation of his laughter. Sehun shouldn’t have pushed him so far.
But he did.
I remember Chaerin’s first day in kindergarten. A totally nervous expression. Didn’t let go of my hand. Although the kindergarten wasn’t that far actually, it seemed really far from that day onwards. I worried as to how Chaerin’s kindergarten life would be as she isn’t good in Japanese, however we didn’t talk much about the kindergarten at home. While Chaerin always played brightly and excitedly at home as though nothing happened, my mind on the other hand was always filled with thoughts like “Is this kid doing well in kindergarten!?” This thought was always in my mind, weighing down my heart like a heavy stone. Continued going to kindergarten for a few days. That day too without fail, Chaerin took her bag. Before entering the kindergarten, Chaerin asked me.“Dad, what’s ‘play with me’ in Japanese?” - CL’s dad
